Start with evidence, measurements, reproducible methods, and responsible interpretation.
- Ask a testable question
- Plan a fair comparison
- Interpret results carefully
MODULE 1 OF 3Ask a testable question
Define a measurable outcome and a comparison. A question is testable when observations could support or challenge an explanation.
Practice and reflectTurn a broad claim in your field into a measurable question with a specified population or system.
MODULE 2 OF 3Plan a fair comparison
Document the method, controls, sample, and measurement units. Consider confounding factors and safety requirements before collecting data.
Practice and reflectList the variables, a control, and one source of bias for your proposed study.
MODULE 3 OF 3Interpret results carefully
Separate observations from conclusions. Report uncertainty, limitations, and whether the data support the specific claim tested; do not treat correlation alone as proof of cause.
Practice and reflectWrite a three-sentence results summary with one limitation and a next experiment.

Knowledge checks and certificates
A scored Marine Biologist SkillCheck is not available yet. A field-specific quiz opens only after its 200-question bank and explanations have been reviewed. You can take the separate general Workplace Readiness SkillCheck now.
